Launch of the young PHYTOMET Morocco team associated with IRD
The Young Associate Team of the IRD on the development of plant resources for the phytoremediation* of sites contaminated by heavy metals in Morocco, officially launched its activities in June 2018 at Mohamed V University in Rabat, for a period of 3 years. This project is in line with the sustainable development objectives adopted by the United Nations (2015) and responds to Morocco's concerns regarding the protection of biodiversity and the well-being of the population and is in line with the objectives of the "Green Morocco Plan".
Were present at this event: Professor Rachida Hassikou (Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Sciences of Rabat), Professor Jamel Aurag (Director of the BioBio Centre), members of the Biotechnology and Plant Physiology Laboratory, the Moroccan members and IRD of the JEAI including Professor Mouna Fahr who is in charge and Abdelaziz Smouni the deputy director of the research laboratory, Didier Boguzd (UMR DIADE) and Fabrice Colin (UMR CEREGE, JEAI correspondent).

Launch of the IML MINERWA of Ivory Coast, January 2019
The goal of the International Joint Laboratory (IJL) MINERWA (Responsible Mines in West Africa) is to contribute, through research, to the understanding of the distribution of mineral resources in Ivory Coast, as well as to their exploration and responsible exploitation, i.e. with debated and controlled societal and environmental impacts.
